Guidelines for Submitting Art Electronically


1. Provide laser or equivalent (PDF) proof of all pages. It's the only way to ensure accuracy.

2. Provide all fonts & graphics (and only those) needed to run file(s).

3. Ensure document size represents accurate trim size of finished product.

4. Provide at least 1 pica of bleed as neccessary

5. Files are requested in QuarkXPress, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign or Adobe Photoshop (Macintosh format). Other file formats with prior notification.

6. Files supplied on CD or DVD. Other media with prior notification.

7. Placed vector images saved as Illustrator eps or equivalent, other formats with prior notification.

7a. Trapping is the responsibility of the file provider unless otherwise noted. Trapping can be done as required at additional cost.

8. Placed bitmap images (scans etc.) saved as (bitmap, grayscale, or CMYK colour (not RGB)) Tiffs (Mac) with no compression or (bitmap, grayscale, or CMYK colour(not RGB)) eps files (binary encoded, Macintosh preview (NO JPEG compression)), other formats with prior notification. Resolution for grayscale and colour images should be twice line screen (i.e. 133 lpi requires 266 dpi) at final size, for "Line art type" images resolution should be at least 600 dpi at final size.

8a. Colour correction is the responsibility of the file provider unless otherwise noted. Colour correction can be done as required at additional cost.

9. Supplied PDFs must be CMYK Composite, not RGB or Pre-Separated. Use only Adobe Acrobat Distiller to generate PDFs, not Acrobat PDFWriter. Embed ALL fonts. Use Print Optimized Distiller settings to ensure high resolution imaging. YRP Distiller settings available upon request.

10. Large files can be compressed with "Aladdin Stuff-it" or equivalent.

11. Email files smaller than 2mb to yrpgraphics@yrng.com. Files larger than 2mb can be FTP'd (Settings available upon request).

2. Files are requested in generic text format (ms-dos or Macintosh). Other file formats with prior notification.

3. Files supplied on CD. Other media with prior notification.
